Toby grew up in Santa Clara, CA (northern California). He spent 6 years on active duty with the Marine Corp. During those years he served in Tennesse, southern California, Samalia and Hawaii. He and his wife then moved to Minnesota so he could attend vet school at the University of Minnesota.

He currently resides in Minneapolis with his wife and two year old son.
